Partnership with ANU on project

Beyond the Resource Curse: Charting A Path to Sustainable Livelihoods for Mineral-Dependent Communities. This is a three-year ‘action-research project’ funded by the Australian Research Council. It combines research with participatory action to not just expand scholarly understanding of issues around informal, artisanal and small-scale mining and quarrying, but combines research with action to assist the mineworkers to improve their livelihoods in India. A Project initiation seminar was held by MLPC in July, 2013, and currently a number of studies are being undertaken with mineworkers to support them to design their own pathways out of poverty and oppression.
